NexaCore: Inside the Business Operating System Built for OHADA Africa

Every region that grows fast eventually produces the same gap: a wave of ambitious small and medium businesses, and a shortage of software actually built for the rules they operate under. In Central and West Africa, that gap has a name attached to the accounting law itself, OHADA, and a set of tax and social security regimes that most global software treats as an afterthought. NexaCore was built to close that gap, and its expansion over the past year is worth understanding in detail.

What NexaCore actually is

NexaCore, styled as NexaCore BOS for Business Operating System, also known as NexaCoreERP, NexaCore ERP, NexaCore CRM, is a single platform that runs the back office of a company: accounting, invoicing, customer relationship management, human resources, payroll, inventory, and point of sale, all sharing one underlying dataset. That last part matters more than it sounds. In most growing companies, those functions live in separate tools that do not talk to each other, which means the same customer, the same invoice, or the same employee record gets typed in three or four times, and reconciled by hand at month-end. NexaCore’s core premise is that this should never happen. One login, one dataset, every department working from the same numbers.

The platform is bilingual by default, in English and French, and every financial and tax calculation is denominated natively in CFA francs (XAF or XOF, depending on zone). It was built by CodingHQ, a Douala-based software company, and it is a commercial, live product available today at nexacore-bos.com, with a free trial and no payment method required to start.

The products at the front

Of the roughly sixteen modules inside NexaCore, four are the ones worth understanding first, because they carry the sharpest differentiation.

Accounting and Finance. This is the foundation, and the one incumbents like Odoo, QuickBooks, and Sage tend to treat as a localisation afterthought, a plugin bolted onto a system built for another market. NexaCore does the opposite. The full OHADA chart of accounts, covering all eight account classes, is built into the schema from day one. TVA is computed automatically on every invoice line at the correct rate, and the platform produces both the Montant HT and Total TTC figures that Francophone accounting requires by convention, not as an afterthought.

HR and Payroll. Payroll in this region is not a generic problem. It involves CNPS contributions, split between employee and employer, and IRPP income tax computed on a progressive bracket system. NexaCore automates both, generates compliant payslips, and tracks leave, attendance, and contracts alongside them, so a payroll run that once took a finance officer a full day of manual calculation now runs in minutes.

CRM and Sales. Contacts, deals, and pipelines, with a Kanban board for tracking deals through stages, activity timelines per client, and every invoice and interaction tied back to the same contact record, rather than living in a separate address book.

The AI Advisor and Autopilot. This is the layer that goes beyond record-keeping. The AI Advisor reads a company’s actual books and produces a weekly briefing, flags of financial risk, and suggested next actions, in the business owner’s own language. Autopilot goes a step further, preparing collections reminders, restock recommendations, and draft bookkeeping entries automatically each morning, ready for a single approval rather than a full workday of manual review.

The founder-market fit story

NexaCore was not designed on a whiteboard for a hypothetical customer. It was built first as an internal tool to run CodingHQ’s own operations, and only productized once it was already solving a real, daily problem for a real company. That origin matters, because it means the product’s priorities were shaped by actual friction, not by a feature list copied from a competitor.

Where NexaCore operates now

NexaCore launched in Cameroon and has since confirmed expansion into four additional OHADA markets, each with a dedicated, localized page reflecting that country’s specific tax authorities, social security bodies, and currency:

Every one of those markets shares the same underlying legal framework, OHADA and its SYSCOHADA accounting standard, which is precisely why the expansion is architecturally sound rather than a series of one-off rebuilds. The compliance engine travels with the company. Only the tax rates, statutory bodies, and currency change from one market to the next.

Why it matters

Small and medium businesses across this region are, by most measures, the backbone of their national economies, and the software gap they have operated with for years has real costs: late payroll, unreconciled books, tax filings assembled in a panic, and credit that banks are reluctant to extend because financial records cannot be produced cleanly on demand. A platform that treats OHADA compliance as native architecture, not a bolt-on feature, is not solving a convenience problem. It is solving a visibility problem that has been holding back businesses that are already doing the hard work of growing.
